The rEvolutionaries Project
For the first semester of 2015~2016 (10th grade), the MLB team focused on a new project learning about the privileges and disadvantages everyone has, all students learned about different social issues that are occurring in today's present day, such as sexism, body image, racism, social class, etc. Each student had to group with three other group member to learn more about a specific social issue that's important to them. Each group then had to create a display poster filled with their experiment, analysis and implications, along with group pictures. Each group also had to create a public service announcement video that advocates for their issue. Aside from the group work, each student needed to have a portfolio containing personal experiences with privilege, data collected through the experiment that they ran, interviews from a variety of people associated with privilege, and a series of reflections.
My group members throughout this project were Caitlin Wasielewski, Jalani Taylor, and Jordan Damond. All four of us chose to focus our group project on Prejudice Visibility. Throughout our project we not only focused on one social justice issue but, others as well. We really wanted to advocate for all issues so none of them get unrecognized. We studied about the intersectionality throughout all social justice issues and how they connect with each other in some way. Down below we have created a PSA video where you can learn more about intersectionality, and a display poster filled with all of our research and experiment results, as well what our final conclusion was. Ive also included my final project portfolio containing what i've researched, different reflections, essays, and narratives that i've written.
